Data Visualization at the Designing Peace Exhibition

What is the goal of data visualization?

The main goal of Data visualization is to present an idea, in a way that is easy to grasp and understand. Data visualization is supposed to be a creative way to present data, such as showing data for poverty as shopping carts

Conflict's Root Causes Description

This exhibition is supposed to display the man-made objects sent to various points in space such as Earth's orbits, the moon, and even Mars. The purpose of this illustration is to show us how much space exploration we have done ever since the space race between the USSR and the USA back in the 1960s, this information is supposed to be easily digestible, otherwise we would've had a boring dotted graph.

How can you use your skills in graphic design to visualize your data?

I can use the skills I've gathered throughout my graphic design career to display in an easy to digest, ADHD-friendly manner similar to how it was done in the exhibition, but instead presenting data about climate change which is the topic I chose to do a spread about.

How will you improve/revise your initial data visualization rough?

In my initial sketches for the spread I simply included symbols of the earth and fire in order to illustrate the data. With the information I've gathered from the video, the online exhibition, and the NY Times page, I feel like I can illustrate it in a slightly better way, I would probably use maps to illustrate topics like Deforestation or a illustration of the Atmosphere being polluted with Greenhouse gases. I will still use the symbols I've previously established in my sketches but to a lesser extent.
